LUM University’s School of Italian for Foreigners is located in ex Convento dei Teatini - a 17th century baroque era monastery in the heart of the stunning and steeped in tradition Centro Storico.

LUM University’ s School of Italian for Foreigners provides Italian and cultural courses for university credits and offers a meaningful and rewarding learning experience to anyone with a strong desire to learn or improve the Italian language. Students of all ages and level are welcome. The only prerequisite is a love of Italian language and culture. LUM University’ s School of Italian for Foreigners is also summer school of several international Universities for university credits.

LUM University team include dynamic and dedicated teachers who, with skilled office and support staff, work together to create an environment to make each student's participation safe, relevant, memorable, and rewarding.

The daily grammar and conversation sessions are both fun and rigorous and they are conducted through an interactive, culture based approach. Small classes guarantee lots of individual attention.

Our teacher are our greatest assets. All are passionate, highly skilled, experienced, and very patient. They are expert in teaching Italian as a second language and all have traveled, studied, worked or lived abroad gaining cross-cultural skills and international experience.

Language and cultural studies are supported by extra curricular activities which provide a variety of opportunities to experience the distinct cultural traditions of the region and to interact with local residents. The learning labs link learning the Italian language with local cultural activities such as cooking, crafts, and folk dance in a way which enhances the language learning experience and exposes participants to the rich local culture.

LUM University’s School of Italian for Foreigners organises day trips the most fascinating sites in the unique natural environment of the Salento region of Apulia. Lecce lies between the Adriatic and the Ionian seas, within easy reach of some stunning places to visit including the UNESCO listed towns of Matera and Alberobello. This provides the perfect backdrop to excite, motivate and inspire as you embark on the learning experience of a lifetime.

The School provides assistance to find accommodation including single or double occupancy in shared apartments, studio flats and homestay. All types of accommodation are located within walking distance from the school. The price of accommodation organised by the school includes transfers from the train station or from the city terminal to your lodgings, and assistance from our student experience staff.
