drawing and painting courses - Florence, Italy - Art courses in Florence

drawing and painting courses at the art studio in florence

Have you ever dreamt of attending drawing and painting courses in the art studio of an artist? To learn directly from the “Maestro” the techniques and how to improve your artistic ability and expressiveness?

Our drawing and painting courses give you this opportunity. We offer one-to-one and small group art courses (with 3-4 participants) which are held by experienced artists directly in their art studios.

Our drawing and painting courses in Florence are restricted to a few participants so that the “Maestro” can follow every student personally supporting his/her individual studying and working process. In this way, it is possible to give the students flexibility within the program.

Usually, the painting instruction starts by preparing a drawing, which is then transferred to canvas and completed with watercolors, acrylics or oil colors. The teacher guides each student individually, and helps each person to find the most appropriate subject, style and technique according to his or her artistic experience, preferences and inspiration.

The program of the drawing and painting courses may teach the copying of drawings of the great masters of the Renaissance (Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael etc.) which helps to acquire a proper sense of the line and shapes, and the use of “light and shade”, one of the characteristics of the Florentine school in the XVI century. Alternatively, the curriculum of the course may be on mixed techniques, sculpture or the use of gold leaf.

Developing a personal style and expression is encouraged.

Our drawing and painting courses provide a unique opportunity to have a very experienced artist as your personal teacher at your full disposal. They are created to improve your artistic skills even after only a few lessons. Each of the students of the individual courses can choose between the different styles and techniques according to his wishes and needs. In a small group course, the program will be adapted to the requests of all the participants.

Our drawing and painting classes in Florence can be followed by anyone. No particular requirements nor enrollment in our Italian courses are requested to attend this program. The lessons can be taught in English and Italian.
