At Italiaidea language is not just a system of rules but an instrument for communicating, understanding, and expressing oneself. In all our courses we employ a communicative approach based on authentic and up-to-date materials like newspapers, video, and music. In the stimulating lessons one immediately applies the structures and vocabulary introduced by the teacher. From the very first day of your Italian language course you are involved with professional, fun, and approachable teachers who respect the individual learning rhythm of each student. All of Italiaidea's italian courses, individual or group, are offered at seven levels of Italian language awareness: two elementary, two intermediate, two advanced, and one for perfection. Teacher Training Italiaidea offers a Teacher Training course in three stages: –basic training: introduces theory principles, learning objectives and teaching strategies typical of communicative approaches to language learning and teaching; initiates participants to planning and management of lessons and courses allowing students to develop all communicative abilities, while maintaining a central role in the learning process. –specialized training: deals with teaching Italian in specific application fields (American University programs in Italy, Italian universities and Erasmus program, religious institutions, multinational companies) –internship: thirty hours observing and teaching in a regular class, ending with a written evaluation of professional goals achieved by participants. ![]() University Courses Since 1985, our Italian language school in Rome, has offered Italian language and culture classes for college-credit to American colleges and universities. Our Italian courses are designed according to the needs, objectives, and specific requests of every institution. Students receive a final grade and corresponding college-credit. In 2002 Italiaidea has produced Italian Espresso. It is the first Italian course to be "made in Italy" specifically for university-level English speaking students of Italian, both in the United States and in Italy, and developed according to Foreign Language Acquisition Standards. In addition to our courses students can choose to attend some of the school's many extracurricular activities, from guided museum tours, to conferences on Italian cinema, to wine tasting. Italiaidea offers assistance to all its students on every practical issue for the complete duration of their stay in our school from the moment of registration. |
